About Brighton
I am a senior software engineer with 5+ years building and shipping production systems in C#, Python and TypeScript, currently working on AI platforms including RAG pipelines and a WhatsApp AI assistant used by real businesses. I hold a BSc Computer Science from UCT (Mastercard Foundation Scholar) and have founded multiple software companies since graduating. I got into tutoring back in 2018 because I enjoyed helping friends and classmates get unstuck on things they had written off as "not for them," and I kept doing it for years because watching that shift happen never got old. Teaching is still one of the most rewarding things I do.

My approach starts with finding exactly where you're stuck, not just what topic you're behind on. I explain concepts in plain language first, then connect them to exam terminology, and we work through practice problems together rather than me just demonstrating. As a senior software engineer with a UCT Computer Science degree, I bring real professional experience to how I teach Maths and Computer Science, alongside 4+ years of tutoring history with students who kept coming back term after term. Sessions are patient, judgement-free, and focused on building understanding that lasts beyond the next test.
