About Matt

As an enthusiastic and patient tutor, I am wholeheartedly committed to fostering an environment that encourages learning and development in Mathematics. Holding a joint major in Mathematics and Economics from the University of California, San Diego, I bring a wealth of knowledge and academic experience to the table. My educational background provides me with the strong mathematical foundation necessary to break down complex topics into understandable segments.

About the lesson

- Understanding the student's needs: The first step is to assess the student's current understanding of the subject, identify areas of strength and weakness, and understand their learning style. This step is crucial in crafting a personalized lesson plan.

- Lesson Preparation: Based on the assessment, I prepare a lesson plan that focuses on the student's weak areas while also reinforcing their strengths. My lessons combine direct instruction, guided practice, and independent problem-solving.

- Delivery and Interaction: During lessons, I aim to explain complex concepts using simple, real-life examples and analogies. I encourage active participation from students to ensure they are engaged and understanding the material.

- Revision and Practice: Regular revision and practice are key components of my lessons. I provide students with problems to solve independently, followed by guided solutions and discussions.

Ho is a nice guy who fully trusts his students. He will give you all the help you need to be successful in math. I always felt encouraged to learn and talk with him, every lesson is really easy, and you wouldn't feel any pressure about it.
