About Alex
I grew up in Chino Hills and was salutatorian at Chino Hills High School. My passion for teaching began there as I helped volunteer in tutoring my peers for math and science. As I entered UCLA, I continued private online tutoring for a few clients in prealgebra and algebra. I then spent a year working with K-12 students in Los Angeles on math, reading, and science. It is my belief that learning comes at different paces for different people and that anyone can accomplish great things if given the right guidance and encouragement, hence why I love tutoring and raising the confidence of those I work with. At the end of the day, we're all learning together!

I like to develop a personal teaching method tailored to each tutee based on their level and the goals that we want to achieve together. I am experienced with all students at all different levels and want to create a safe space where tutees do not feel pressured on their current skill level and can confidently improve their skills. My goal is to make math and high school/college prep easier to approach and less difficult than it seems by offering my personal struggles and experience that led to me getting into UCLA. Learning should be easy! :)
A typical lesson plan would be either helping a tutee with homework or a topic they have trouble understanding. We would work through their homework or practice worksheets I provide together. For recurring tutees, I would also be willing to assign and grade extra practice for them.
