About Jiya

I take tutoring seriously and come prepared for each session with a clear sense of what the student needs to work on. I have over four years of tutoring experience and a strong background in math, including coursework through calculus, so I am familiar with a wide range of topics and where students tend to struggle. That experience helps me explain ideas in a way that is clear and adjusted to each student, rather than one-size-fits-all.

I am consistent and reliable, and I make sure both students and parents have a clear sense of progress over time. The goal is to create a focused, comfortable environment where students can improve steadily and feel more confident in their abilities.

About the lesson

A lot of students get used to waiting for someone to show them the next step, and over time that makes math feel harder than it actually is. I try to shift that by helping students rely more on their own thinking. I pay attention to how they approach problems and guide them toward methods that make sense to them, so they are not just following steps but understanding what they are doing.

I give students time to work through ideas before stepping in, then help them adjust their reasoning so they can move forward with more confidence. As they improve, they start to check their own work more carefully and get less stuck when something feels unfamiliar.
