I am a first year student at UCLA (University of California, Los Angeles) but I worked at a Kumon and high school and continue to teach through the club Interaxon, for which I visit schools K-12 and teach on various neuroscience topics.

I think that teaching students how to learn material themselves is more important. Repetition of material, of course, is important, but when a student gets stuck, rather than immediately explain the answer, I first ask questions engage the student and let them recall as much information as they can. If after asking questions, the student does not know the answer, I go step by step with how to answer the question in addition to any information they would need to answer the question.
