About Jana
My name is Jana Aazami and I am an official graduate from UCLA with an Applied Mathematics Degree. Throughout my undergraduate experience, I’ve undergone a series of programs where I’ve gained tutoring experience among many levels from Los Angeles Valley College and to my home campus at UCLA. Teaching has always been a favorite desire and strong suit of mine to be able to know how to cater to a student’s personal difficulties in learning and trying to cultivate a special way to help them learn. This is a fun task for me to work on getting to know the student’s weaknesses and strengths and working one-on-one to provide them an easier way to see things in a way that’s special and unique to them. There’s always more than one way to solve a problem.
One thing I’ve learned from my experience as a tutor is realizing that my intuition to problem solving may not be that simple for students to see for themselves right off the bat. With this knowledge, I found ways to become more adaptable and fluid to pave the small steps necessary to help students identify the next steps to building the bridge on their own (when they are ready to work on them on their own) in their paths to problem solving.
I’m always optimistic and delighted to be a part of educated learning. I see myself reaching to take on a bigger role in the teaching world and gain even more experience in higher education.

Teaching is a humble service I take with great pleasure. There’s nothing more rewarding than to practice consistency with an individual and see how those little progresses build up to leave even bigger impressions in the brain.
I like to work by devising lessons unique to every student so they have resources and lessons that are tailored for their individual needs, whether it be a particular weakness for long division or a barrier to learning such as dyslexia. Whatever the need, I feel it necessary to put careful thought into creating a way around those barriers that is comfortably easy to maneuver for the student.
Making learning fun is something I enjoy doing because I believe we’re all willing to put in a lot of effort into something if we find some joy in it.
