About Priyan
I’m Priyan, a passionate Mathematics tutor and second year Civil Engineering student at UCL. I’ve always had a strong interest in Maths - not just in solving problems, but in understanding how things work and helping others see the logic behind them. Teaching allows me to share that passion and make a real difference for students who may find the subject challenging or intimidating. I find it incredibly rewarding to see a student’s confidence grow as concepts start to click, and I aim to make every lesson engaging, supportive, and focused on progress. My goal is to show that with the right guidance and mindset, anyone can succeed in Maths.

My approach to tutoring focuses on building confidence and understanding by breaking complex mathematical concepts into clear, manageable steps. I tailor each lesson to the individual student, identifying misconceptions early and using targeted practice to strengthen weaker areas. Lesson length is flexible and can be adjusted to suit each student’s needs, whether for focused topic sessions or longer, in-depth lessons. I’m currently in my second year studying Civil Engineering at UCL, having achieved top results academically - 8s in GCSE Maths and Further Maths, an A in A-Level Maths, and an A* in A-Level Economics - along with Silver Awards in the UKMT Senior and Intermediate Maths Challenges. I’ve successfully tutored GCSE students, including one who improved from a Grade 5 to a Grade 8 under my guidance. I teach students of all abilities up to GCSE level, whether they’re looking to build foundational skills, catch up on difficult topics, or aim for top exam grades. My lessons are engaging, supportive, and results-focused, helping students feel confident and capable in Maths.
