About Cyrus
The most rewarding part of tutoring will always be seeing the tutee transition from a state of frustration, confusion, apathy, or anxiety to one of calm, engaged confidence. I don’t think academic syllabi are always particularly inspiring, but the tutee’s realisation of their own competence is, and this is what I strive to instil in them.

I begin by working through relevant papers with the student, encouraging them to explain their thought process to assess their understanding. Based on this, I then tailor challenging questions and suggest personalised thinking routines. This method has worked well because it emphasises deep conceptual clarity over rote strategies or superficial difficulty labels. Lessons are 1 hour long with a 5-10 minute break should the student wish. My qualifications: A-levels: maths, biology, chemistry: A* , A* , A* I have been tutoring intermittently for 6 years and teaching classes in Science for 2 years now. My experience: - EasyA, 2019: GCSE maths tutoring. - MyTutor, 2022-2023: maths and biology GCSE tutoring. - Little House of Science, 2023-present: Teaching after-school science clubs at various schools in London during term-time and teaching whole-day science camps during holidays to children aged 6-13. - Informal tutoring sessions for family, friends, and referrals in maths and sciences up to GCSE level. I tutor for GCSEs and A-levels in biology, chemistry, and maths.
