About Mia
If I could pick 2 adjectives for myself it would be understanding and compassionate. I myself have sought tutoring since middle school as well as into college. I believe in helping others and nothing is more important to me than making a positive impact. If my tutoring helped one person feel more confident in their skills it would be worth it (of course I strive to help everyone I teach to reach their goals). I will ask each student about their goals specifically and do everything I can not just to be a tutor but also a friend and someone to look up to, confide in and above all I want to be honest and genuine in all of my teaching styles. I will find multiple ways to motivate each student depending on what works for them individually! Every person has a different pace at which they learn and I will accommodate and be supportive of all paces.

I am very patient and will put in the effort to learn how my students retain information best. I like to explore different ways of teaching (visual, hands on, examples, etc.) I want to influence my students not to memorize but to understand and develop reasons to care about each subject! I work best with kids from elementary to middle school in areas such as Math and English (I scored a 36 on my ACT English section). And I am comfortable teaching subjects Biology and Chemistry at a high school level. I have also taken the ACT 10 times and am very confident teaching others standardized testing strategies that helped me improve my score by 11 points in 2 tests!

Mia is super determined and kind. I think she genuinely cares about others and is one of the best listeners. She graduated with a 4.0 in high school and she’s personally taught me a lot of good study habits for college.
