About Atabak
Hi, I’m Atabak. I’m a UBC instructor/TA and a machine learning engineer with several years of experience teaching data science, machine learning, and computer science fundamentals. I enjoy helping students build real understanding and confidence—especially in topics that can feel overwhelming at first.
My teaching style is structured, friendly, and results-focused. I break complex ideas into clear steps, use plenty of examples, and make sure you leave each session knowing exactly what you learned and what to practice next. These are some of the courses that I can help you with:
1) IB (HL, SL) Math, Stat and Physics, AP Calculus AB & BC, AP Statistics,
2) Pre-Calculus 11,12, Trigonometry, Geometry, Algebra, Math 7, 8, 9, 10.
3) Computer Science , Computer Engineering Courses

My lessons are structured, practical, and focused on helping you truly understand the “why” behind each concept—not just memorize steps. I teach by combining clear explanations, guided problem-solving, and repetition in the places students usually get stuck.
My methodology:
Start with a quick check of your current level and goals
Explain concepts in simple terms, with examples
Do guided practice together, then independent practice with feedback
Build a personal study plan (what to review, what to practice, what’s next)
A typical lesson plan (60–90 minutes)
Warm-up: 5–10 minutes of quick questions to spot gaps
Concept: 15–25 minutes of clear explanation + examples
Practice: 25–40 minutes solving problems together (step-by-step)
Improve: fix mistakes, learn shortcuts, and review common patterns
Wrap-up: summary + a short practice set for next time
What sets me apart:
I bring both teaching experience (UBC instructor/TA) and real engineering habits: clear structure, strong fundamentals, and honest feedback. I’ll also show you how to think like a problem-solver—how to break down questions, debug your work, and improve faster.
Who the lessons are for:
High school and university students, and beginners to intermediate learners who want support in math/CS courses, Python for data science, machine learning, deep learning fundamentals, and interview preparation.
