About Taranpreet

I have worked as a teaching assistant in an elementary school, tutored privately, and served as a Cadet Instructor in the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program. I have worked with students from the ages of 4-16 in a professional manner. As a student myself, I understand the importance of a safe and welcoming environment and create such environment with students.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology incorporates a blend of both technological and non-technological resources, providing a well-rounded approach to learning. In a typical lesson plan, I begin by assisting students with any homework, such as essay reviews, debate preparation, or completing worksheets, and then build on this with extra material that complements their schoolwork. If there is no assigned schoolwork, I may have the student read a short text, discuss its meaning, and then write an opinion piece about it. When introducing new or difficult topics, I engage the student with a warm-up activity to refresh their memory on previously learned concepts before diving into the new material. This is followed by guided practice and then independent practice to reinforce their understanding.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my extensive hands-on experience with children aged 4-16. I have worked as a teaching assistant in an elementary school, tutored privately, and served as a Cadet Instructor in the Royal Canadian Air Cadet program. These experiences have equipped me with a variety of techniques for engaging students and tailoring lessons to their individual needs. My lessons primarily focus on elementary school students, but I also offer tutoring for secondary school students, adapting my approach depending on the student's level and the subject matter.
