About Phil
I have taught a variety of grade levels throughout my 15-year career, including 3rd & 5th (all subjects), 6th & 7th (math, honors math). I have also taught teaching candidates at the college level which has helped me stay on top of the most effective ways to help students learn. I have two Master's Degrees in education; a Master of Arts in Teaching, and a Master of Arts in Educational Administration & Supervision.

My teaching approach is to form a connection with students, pinpoint their needs, and build lessons tailored to them. I am intentional about setting goals WITH the student instead of FOR them and learning about their interests in order to connect learning to the real world. I aim to ease anxieties students have about learning and encourage positive thinking as they begin to see successes start to stack up!
