About Ozioma

My name is Ozioma and I’m a 17-year-old English student. I am someone who is driven and ambitious with large goals and high expectations set for myself. I have seen first-hand how determination and dedication pay off academically. Not just in myself, but those in close proximity to me. That overwhelming feeling of success and reward is one that I know personally, and a sensation that everyone should get to know one day. That’s why I’m here. I’ve always wanted to teach because I want to be the person who exposes you to the true essence of English. One that isn’t “boring” or “complicated”, but a part of English that is relatable and essential. English is a way to express yourself and make sense of the world around us. I don’t believe in talking down to your relationship with English or overcomplicating the subject. Yes, it can be complex and intricate, but it doesn’t have to be daunting or taxing. Before tackling your concerns with English, I will be sure to rebuild the relationship you have with it. You should feel confident in yourself, not shy away from the challenge.

About the lesson

I’m a tutor that believes in, and nurtures everyone’s potential. I focus not just on building your confidence in English but within yourself as well. The goal is for you to enter any room feeling self-assured and optimistic about your own abilities. Hours of studying and preparation mean nothing without resilience, determination and discipline and I emphasise that in every lesson. I understand how gruelling and daunting English can feel - trust me, I’ve been there - but I’m here to support you in your journey toward learning to love and understand the depth of this subject. What to expect: The first session is free and will be focused on getting to know the student. I want to: - Understand their relationship with English - Know their learning style - Utilise their strengths and tackle weaknesses pertaining to the separate areas within the course. Following up from this session, I will form a personalised lesson plan catered to the student’s learning style that keeps them engaged and stimulated all whilst being effective and progressive About me: I’m an A-Level English Literature student who achieved two A*s at GCSE. I offer both online and face-to-face sessions. My skills: Excellent communication Articulate Friendly and approachable Driven Ambitious Empathetic These skills hold more value than words on paper. This is assurance that I will be a safe space where questions are encouraged and appropriately answered. I speak from experience where I understand the stress and pressure. However, I also have the grades to prove that hard work pays off. My ambition and passion are values that I pride myself on.
