About Nick
Hello,
My name is Nick and I am a graduate of physics from the University of Manchester where the structure of the atomic nucleus was first discovered! I there studied physics to BSc level (first class), and philosophy to second year degree level (I took Physics with Philosophy for two years). Throughout the course, I opted for the mathematical and theoretical modules because of my zeal for maths.
Following my time at Manchester, I took a year out of education to work as a full time tutor for The Tutor Trust. This involved tutoring Maths and Science with students of a range of ages, predominantly LAC and AP students at Secondary level. I also carried out a significant amount of private tuition through Tutorful for A-level students in Maths and Physics.
Subsequently, I took a course in Master's level physics at Imperial College London which I have just graduated from with distinction. I am currently harnessing my passion for science communication to create an upcoming video series teaching environmental physics on YouTube.
My teaching style is flexible and personally tailored so that my students will gain confidence in their subject in the way best suited to them be it visual, discursive or examples-based. Though working through problem sheets is an essential part of getting up to scratch in the mathematical sciences, it is important also to be creative with learning! Whichever style the student prefers, I am thorough and methodical, and aim to impart a deep understanding.
