About Yvonne

**About Me:** My name is Yvonne, and I hold an HBSc in Biological Anthropology from the University of Toronto. I am currently in my final year of the BScN program at one of Ontario's premier nursing colleges. With over three years of experience tutoring my peers, I have consistently achieved notable success, which remains my primary goal as a tutor. Navigating a degree program can be complex and overwhelming, often impacting various aspects of one’s life. However, with support from individuals who can empathize with these challenges, the journey becomes more manageable. I want my clients to know that I do not have all the answers, and I view this as an opportunity for both growth and continuous learning within the nursing profession. I have had the privilege of working as a clinical nurse extern on a labor, delivery, and postpartum unit, with additional exposure to trauma, neurosurgery, and forensic mental health units. I frequently incorporate real-life scenarios and conflicts from my professional and clinical experiences (with necessary modifications to ensure patient and institutional privacy) to offer a practical perspective. This approach helps illustrate how to navigate complex situations using clinical judgment and reasoning, while integrating key aspects of the curriculum such as anatomy, pathophysiology, and relational inquiry to ensure thoroughness and safety in practice.

About the lesson

I provide tutoring for degree and college-level nursing curricula in a supportive and non-judgmental environment. I encourage open dialogue and in-depth exploration of complex topics, including Relational Inquiry, nursing theory, anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, and specialized areas such as acute care, labor and delivery, emergency medicine, complex care, cardiology, rehabilitation, and public health nursing.

My approach includes designing clear and practical lessons that address the unique challenges of the nursing program, including simulation labs, theory courses, and clinical placements. I work closely with students to identify areas needing additional support and develop personalized study plans tailored to their specific needs.
