About Reuben
I am a private tutor who has helped students be successful since 2015. In college I was a athlete, peer mentor and academic tutor. My days would be filled with school work, lacrosse practice, and helping students understand science or psychology subjects. My first 3 years of college were heavily filled with science courses. General Chemistry 1 & 2 , Organic Chemistry, and Biology were a few subjects that I studied vigorously. My last 2 years of college I studied statistics and positive psychology using the two in tandem to analyze data and make inferences for my capstone. I keep some of these skills fresh by being a substitute teacher in my local area. For me; general chemistry, math and psychology are some of my strongest subjects. My teaching philosophy is: If we don't have a foundation how can we ever build up correctly? My approach is more intuitive, instead of telling you the answer I ask you questions to help you get to the right answer. It may seem exhausting at first but, for me, this has been a very useful tool in helping students understand a concept.
