About Ona
I am currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Teaching to become a high school Chemistry teacher, and I have a deep passion for education. While earning my undergraduate degree in Geosciences at Princeton University, I worked as an SAT tutor. I also have about five years of experience working as a high school level math tutor, and I have worked at an alternative high school to support students in earning their GEDs. Additionally, I led classrooms in Spain as a TEFL certified English teacher.
Beyond teaching, I love rock climbing, hiking, and most things outdoors. I also dabble in a variety of crafty hobbies and enjoy spending time at home with my cat. I look forward to meeting you!

I love working with my students to creatively and collaboratively build a deep understanding of concepts beyond memorization. I have extensive experience tutoring pre-Algebra through Calculus, high school Chemistry and Environmental Science, and SAT preparation.
I value supporting my students holistically, and have specific expertise teaching test-taking strategies including test-related stress and anxiety management. I love thinking creatively to design lessons that meet my students' specific needs and always work to dig to the root of misunderstandings and fill learning gaps as we go. I empower my students to feel confident in their learning.
