About Solomon

I’m a recent secondary school graduate and have recently achieved 3 A*’s and an A in Maths, Physics, Chemistry, and Further Maths respectively. Recently this year I have also attained offers to read Mathematics/Mathematics & Philosophy Bsc at universities in the UK and US including Yale, Bath, Edinburgh, Imperial, and Durham. I have had 100+ hours of teaching experience over the past 3 years ranging from primary level up to A Level/Scottish Highers standard. In addition to this, throughout my school career I have achieved recognition in a host of science and maths Olympiads which I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Outside of academics, I am a competitive swimmer and have had the fortunate privilege of representing GB and Wales internationally. I am currently taking a gap year to train full-time in the run up to Olympic Trials, operating on a busy swimming and gym schedule. I am also an avid lover of music contemporary and classical, and play the piano and sax.

About the lesson

I would love to help out anyone in need of some guidance with their studies meanwhile sharing some of my firsthand studying/revision insights that I personally found helpful during my exams. I am someone that is deeply invested within the metacognitive practice of learning, and hence my teaching methods emphasise an explorative but thorough individualised approach which encourages understanding through breaking concepts down to their grassroots.

My enthusiastic and understanding-based teaching style is something that I found has been effective with previous tutees by being able to empathise with the potential confusion when first commencing a topic. After all, I heavily subscribe to the idea that beginners, ironically in some sense, make the best teachers since they are the ones who most strongly resonate with what it’s like to start something.

If you’re thinking of having some lessons with me, please feel free to get in touch! If my price point is a struggle, I am more than willing to compromise on a reduction if necessary.

My lessons are generally structured as either 45min or 1h.
