About Teneka
I’ve been teaching math for more than 20 years, and one of the most rewarding parts of my work is seeing the moment when a difficult concept finally clicks for a student. I’m patient, encouraging, and committed to meeting students where they are without making them feel judged for what they don’t yet know. I believe every student has the ability to improve in math with the right guidance and support. My goal is not only to help students earn better grades, but to help them develop confidence, perseverance, and a genuine belief in their own ability to succeed.

I believe math becomes easier when it is explained in a way that makes sense to you. I use a personalized, student-centered approach and adapt my teaching to your learning style, pace, and individual needs. In each lesson, we’ll identify what you understand, pinpoint areas that need more support, and work through concepts step-by-step until they click. I encourage questions, mistakes, and problem-solving because confidence grows when you understand the “why,” not just the answer. With 20+ years of teaching experience, I help students in grades 6–12 build stronger math skills, improve their understanding, and feel more confident in math.
