About Oriana
Over my years in high school, I have volunteered to tutor students with lower incomes, who otherwise could not afford academic help. These experiences helped me learn that patience, kindness, and a non-judgmental approach are the foundation of learning.
To me, meeting people where they are at is crucial to being an effective tutor. My college status provides me proximity to my students' learning experiences. I am no math prodigy; I had to learn study methods and time management skills to help me strengthen my mathematical abilities. I deeply understand the struggles a student may face when it comes to learning math, and various methods to overcome those challenges.
Overall, I hope to help my students build lasting confidence in their math skills.

I have the most experience tutoring students in 3rd grade to 8th grade in Mathematics. While the majority of my expertise lies in helping students with fundamental math skills, I am also skilled in subjects such as Algebra 2, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, and college level Calculus 1. Ultimately, my main goal is to help students master the ground level skills needed to thrive in advanced mathematics!
I offer 45 and 60 minute lessons.
- The 45 ($13) minute lessons are mainly for re-teaching topics that may be confusing for my students, with some practice problems.
- The 60 ($17) minute lessons allows more time for practice work, which helps the student more deeply reinforce the topics discussed in our session.
If needed, I am happy to send my students practice problems to try after our sessions to supplement what was taught!
My main expectation from my students is to come to each session with a willingness to learn!
