About Eugene

I am a professional academic with 10 years' experience teaching philosophy and psychology at the University of Edinburgh, including tutoring, lecturing and supervision to PhD level, 1000+ assessed essays and exams, and 400+ hours experience in essay and dissertation coaching.

My full qualifications include a 1st class Philosophy & Psychology MA, Psychology MSc and Philosophy PhD from Edinburgh, and I am a researcher and peer reviewer in both subject areas.

I care deeply about teaching and my outstanding results at Edinburgh have been recognised with 23 EUSA Teaching Awards nominations. Students I recently worked with secured offers at world-leading institutions including Oxford, Cambridge, MIT, Berkeley, NTU and Birmingham.

I have special experience working with beginners. How far do you want to go?

I will help you establish or refine an academic skillset in analytic philosophy, formal logic, experimental psychology, or statistical modelling for all levels from undergraduate to PhD.

I offer expert support on essays, dissertations and admissions above and beyond the norm of university advisors, and will work patiently with you to meet and exceed your target results.

Our tutorials adapt to your changing needs: course teaching, exam practice, unpacking a topic, research methods training, or some trusted level-headed advice. As a seasoned examiner and academic mentor, my role is to transform how you assess questions and empower your answers.

I invest in all my students, challenge you with a smile and earn your trust with results.
