About Heather
I am a zoologist who studies tropical bats. My professional interests include natural history, especially of mammals, birds, and insects; teaching ecology, evolution, and lots of topics in zoology; leading students in field research; nature photography; and Spanish linguistics. I hold a Ph.D. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology and have published several papers.

I like to get to know my students so that I can guide them while pushing them to dive deeper into the material. I like to "flip" my lessons so that homework gives background info and our time together can be used to address questions, practice skills, and apply concepts.
