About Abhinav Singh

I am Abhinav, a math teacher and engineer now based in Dublin. I completed a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at BMS College of Engineering in Bangalore, then spent over four years teaching Grades 11 and 12 mathematics at Birla Senior Secondary School. In that time I worked with more than 600 students, delivered 350+ structured lesson plans and maintained a pass rate above 95%. I am currently completing an MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management at Trinity College Dublin.

I teach because engineering taught me something about math that school often does not: every formula exists because someone needed to solve a real problem. Once a student sees the problem behind the notation, the topic stops feeling arbitrary and starts feeling logical. Watching that shift happen, especially with students who had written themselves off as "not a math person", is the reason I kept teaching rather than moving into industry.

I am patient, direct and honest about where a student actually stands. I will not tell you the work is fine if it is not, and I will not move on from a topic until the reasoning is solid rather than memorized. I reply to messages promptly and treat every session as scheduled professional time.

About the lesson

My lessons are built around one idea: most students do not struggle with maths because they lack ability, they struggle because one earlier concept never properly clicked. So the first session is always diagnostic. I work through a few problems with you, watch where the reasoning breaks down, and build the plan from there rather than from a generic syllabus checklist.

I taught Grades 11 and 12 maths for over four years at senior secondary level, working with more than 600 students and maintaining a 95% pass rate. That experience shaped how I teach now: short explanation, worked example, then you attempt a problem while I watch and correct the method in real time. I do not lecture for an hour.

I hold a Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and am completing an MSc in Operations and Supply Chain Management at Trinity College Dublin, so I use engineering and real-world examples constantly. Calculus makes far more sense when you can see what it actually measures.

Lessons run online via Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams with a shared digital whiteboard, and I send worked notes and a practice set after every session. I cover algebra, trigonometry, functions, calculus, coordinate geometry, probability and statistics at Junior Certificate, Leaving Certificate Ordinary and Higher Level.
