About Inaera

Hi, I’m Inaera. I was born and raised in London to Macao immigrant parents, which gave me a multicultural perspective from the very start. I spent 12 incredible years studying in Singapore before moving to Spain, where I completed and graduated high school in Barcelona. I speak four languages: English, Mandarin, and Spanish fluently, as well as moderate French, which has helped me connect with people from all over the world and appreciate the beauty of communication across cultures. Outside of academics, I’m passionate about musical theatre and have had the honor of performing as a lead cast member in two productions. When I’m not teaching or rehearsing, you’ll probably find me relaxing with my three very fat (and very spoiled) cats. I believe learning should be engaging, encouraging, and adapted to each student’s strengths, and I’m here to help make studying feel both enjoyable and rewarding :)

About the lesson

For different subjects, I require different things from my students and also tutor them differently. 1. Language Classes: students are often required to have a 10-minute conversation with me at the end of class to practice. Every week, there will be a list of 10-20 vocabulary words that they're required to memorize. 2. STEM Classes: these classes require a heavy amount of memorizing, which can be boring for a lot of students. I like to use flashcards and drawings to visually entice students. 3. Liberal Arts Classes: classes like psychology, history, will often include me doing a lot of storytelling through slideshows. I try to make these fun and easy so it is more natural for the student to retain information. These lessons are tailored depending on your age. I have experience with tutoring children and teenagers. Moreover, I do have experience in teaching students with disabilities, and one of those students is my very own younger brother with autism.
