About Hazel
Hi, my name is Hazel and I am a Trainee Secondary Science teacher living in Portsmouth. I have a background in maths tutoring and working as a clinical data analyst within the NHS. My degrees are in Biomedical Science BSc (1st class Hons) and Clinical Nutrition MSc (Distinction). I know what it is like to struggle academically (for me foreign languages were my weak point in school!), and therefore teach from a place of compassion and enthusiasm. My hobbies include: singing, baking, painting, gaming and being a mother to my guinea pigs.

Sciences and maths are an area of unease for many students I've worked with, so I start with the basic concepts to establish a solid foundation and establish confidence. I have worked in a sixth form college previously and am currently training as a secondary school science teacher, teaching ages 11-18. I also have interest in teaching adults studying Access to HE courses, level 2 functional skills maths and degree-level qualifications (Biology and Nutrition). Additionally, I am happy to proofread assignments and offer feedback. Lesson length minimum of 30 minutes.
