About Bulmaro

I hold a PhD in Philosophy from UT Austin (top 10 US department), plus a BA in Philosophy from the University of Cambridge. I have seven years of university teaching experience, both as teaching assistant and as instructor of record.

I can help you with:

Philosophy writing (papers, assignments, dissertations) and exam preparation. **Why?** I have graded over a thousand essays and exams combined, and I wrote an 80,000 word dissertation supervised by professors with Oxford and Princeton degrees.

Academic writing in English. **Why?** I have mastered English writing through my study of philosophy and academic research over the course of more than 15 years.

Formal logic. **Why?** I have taught my own logic course, found major errors in published logic textbooks, and survived Cambridge's brutal Part II Mathematical Logic paper.
s
Standardized English-language tests (Cambridge tests, TOEFL, IELTS). **Why?** I obtained the Cambridge CPE (C2 Proficiency) certificate, 118/120 TOEFL, 8.5/9.0 IELTS, all on my first attempt, and I can teach you how to do your best at them.

SAT and GRE. **Why?** I obtained 170 verbal, 5.5 analytical writing on the GRE on my first attempt, self-taught. Consistently score at 99+ percentile on standardized verbal tests. I can help you decode the logic of these exams.

Fixing AI messes. **Why?** I have two years of experience training and evaluating AI. My job is to find AI's mistakes and teach it. I know its weaknesses, and I can help you make sure that you use it correctly.

If you have ever felt that reading and writing are "subjective", or that they lack logic, I will teach you how to unlock their secret structure. I have always had a good mind for mathematics (162/170 quant GRE, current 4.0 GPA at OMSCS), and I can help STEM students succeed at reading and writing, as well as humanities students.

My lessons can either cover philosophy, logic (formal and mathematical), academic writing, and preparation for language-based standardized tests.

Depending on your specific needs, we develop a study plan to achieve your goals. My general approach consists in focusing on the core of the logic of the task that we are approaching and guiding you step-by-step on how to succeed at it.

I will teach you clear, logical thinking, how to construct and analyze rigorous arguments, and how to tame the ambiguity and subjectivity of language. STEM students who want to demystify reading and writing through precise analysis are more than welcome.

Additionally, I speak Spanish and can help you understand academic English in your own language.
