About Xuefei

Hi there! My name is Xuefei (Sybil). I’m passionate about helping students grow in confidence and skill—especially when it comes to mastering English and achieving IELTS success. I hold a Master’s degree from the London School of Economics (LSE) and a Bachelor’s degree from the University of St Andrews, two of the UK’s most prestigious institutions. My academic background has shaped not only my knowledge but also my approach to clear communication, critical thinking, and structured learning. With over three years of English teaching experience, including more than a year specialising in IELTS preparation, I currently work with a leading Chinese education brand focused on IELTS Speaking. I understand the challenges students face and how to guide you towards your personal goals with patience, encouragement, and practical strategies. Beyond the classroom, I’m a violinist, fitness enthusiast, and lifelong learner who loves books, films & TV series, and exploring new cultures through travel. About the lesson

1. Teaching Techniques and Methodology: My teaching approach is interactive, student-centred, and results-driven. Each lesson is tailored to meet your individual goals, with a focus on identifying weaknesses and turning them into strengths. I emphasise active speaking—students are encouraged to talk for at least 50% of the lesson—while providing clear, practical feedback. I create a supportive and relaxed learning environment where students feel confident expressing themselves, making mistakes, and growing through consistent, constructive guidance. 2. Typical Lesson Length: Each session is 50 minutes long—intensive, focused, and designed to maximise your speaking practice and progress in a manageable timeframe. 3. Qualifications and Experience: I hold a Master's degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a Bachelor's degree from the University of St Andrews, two of the UK’s most prestigious universities. With over three years of teaching experience, including more than one year specialising in IELTS Speaking preparation, I have helped 95% of my students significantly improve their scores. Many have achieved or exceeded their target band, gaining fluency, accuracy, and confidence. Having lived in the UK for 10 years, I bring native-level fluency and cultural insight to every lesson, helping students sound natural and communicate effectively in real-life situations. 4.
