About Uzair
I am a mechanical engineering student at the University of the Witwatersrand and a top-level high school graduate. I completed my matric year in 2023 and graduated with 6 distinctions, one in English, Afrikaans, Mathematics, Life Orientation, Life Sciences and History. I also took AP Maths throughout high school and spent an uncountable amount of time tutoring my peers and helping them in all my aforementioned subjects. I'm generally a relaxed and fun-loving person with a relaxed teaching style that research and personal experience has shown to be conducive to effective learning. Beyond just my teaching ability, I'm a professional sportsman. I am a two-time national fencing champion and a current member of the South African Junior Fencing Team. I look forward to meeting you and teaching you to the best of my ability to help you achieve your goals.

I teach all aspects of the IEB and DBE/CAPS English Curriculum through individualized lessons tailored to student needs. I have native level proficiency in English. In all subjects that I've tutored I've endeavored to ensure that I design my lessons around the student's needs rather than using a one size fits all approach where student input is encouraged and nurtured, while at the same time maintaining a relaxed atmosphere which is research proven to be the most effective environment for the learning process. A typical lesson with me will include analysis on literature, poetry and a technical language component depending on the student's particular needs. I teach anywhere from lower-level students looking to make progress in their language learning to advanced students, this includes English Home Language and English First Additional Language.
