About Katherine
I am an OCT certified high school teacher with a Bachelor of Science (double minor in Chemistry and Biology) and a Bachelor of Education, along with several years of classroom experience. I take pride in creating a supportive, professional learning environment for every student and am committed to clear communication and consistent feedback.
I understand that asking for help can feel overwhelming, so I focus on building a positive and comfortable space where students feel confident asking questions and making mistakes. My goal is not only to improve grades, but to help students develop lasting skills and confidence in science.

My teaching approach is student-centered and focused on building confidence and understanding. I break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and use a mix of direct instruction, guided practice, and ongoing feedback. I also incorporate real-world examples, activities, and game-based learning whenever possible to keep lessons engaging and meaningful.
A typical lesson includes a quick review of prior knowledge, introduction of a key concept, worked examples, and lots of practice with support. I adjust the pace based on the student’s needs and make sure they leave feeling more confident than when they started.
What sets me apart is my classroom teaching experience and my ability to explain challenging science concepts in simple, approachable ways. I focus not just on getting the right answer, but on helping students truly understand the “why” behind it.
My lessons are ideal for high school students (Grades 9–12), particularly those taking science or chemistry courses at the academic, college, or university level. I support students who want to improve their grades, prepare for tests, or strengthen their overall understanding of the subject.
