About Ursula

I am a third year student at the University of Glasgow and am very passionate about my subject which is English Literature. It was my favourite subject in school and I intend to pursue a PhD in the field in the near future. I also explored one year of English Language and two years of Philosophy and Art History studies in my first - third year.

I have experience in tutoring my peers at secondary school and University as I am a talented proofreader and one of my key skills is composing essays. This, therefore, extends to the coursework required in the examinations of my preferred tutoring range. I believe I can offer a valuable helping hand in both critical and creative essays, UAE and the analysis of poetic works. At secondary school level I achieved 3 As, 1 B and 2 Cs in my N5s and this spurred me on to do better and really achieve my potential. I succeeded as I achieved 5 As at Higher level and in my last year got a C (Biology unfortunately was not meant for me) and two As (one of which in Advanced Higher English).

This extends to coursework required at University level as I have only honed my skills as the years went by and as I prepare for many more years of English Literature! I am currently a high B/low A student with a GPA of 17.3 determined to get a first-class degree upon graduation :)

About the lesson

* First of all, I would organise a free introductory Zoom meeting with a potential client to get to know each other and decide if the tutoring would be beneficial and acceptable to both parties.

* I am willing to design my tutoring style and content to each individual's level and personal needs - after the introductory session I would prepare the foundations of our sessions for the tutoring period (this would be undertaken after each session).

* This also applies to the length of the lesson - the minimum would be 30 minutes and the maximum, 90.

* I am open to tutoring anyone from 15 - 21 (that is the typical age level from N5s/Gcse's to the third year of University).

* I am primarily familiar with the Scottish curriculum, through personal experience and tutoring peers and N5 and Higher students. However, I am willing to tutor the English curriculum as, if this is required, I am more than happy to research this and supply the same level as knowledge and assistance to any potential students.
