About Louis
I am a third year philosophy student at the University of Birmingham, on track to achieve a First Class degree and start a Masters in Philosophy in September. I have experience teaching groups of up to 25 people as well as individual lessons.

My teaching method is centered around a collaborative effort between me and the student/s. I believe that philosophy is best understood by getting the student to talk through their impressions and thoughts of an idea or argument, then help them develop those thoughts, rather than the teacher simply telling the student what to think and write. That way, the student isn't just learning other people's ideas, but is developing key philosophical skills that can be applied in many areas of study. I directly teach the more complex philosophical arguments and ideas, and then check students' understanding through discussion.
