About Eleanor

I am a Theoretical Physics student going into my third year of studies at the University of Edinburgh. I am very passionate about what I study, and have dedicated myself to understanding some incredibly complex concepts. I attended a school which had a poor quality of teaching, which meant I had to take the initiative and learn independently, as well as assisting my peers. This made my realise my natural affinity and love for teaching others; I enjoy helping others learn and succeed, especially in the subjects which I am so passionate about.

About the lesson

I strongly believe that creating a friendly, engaging environment is key to effective learning. I encourage students to actively participate by working collaboratively through problems. To maintain a positive atmosphere, I will make sure students feel comfortable asking any questions, and be honest when they need help. I'm here to help, and I want you to be comfortable getting all the assistance you need. I will adapt my teaching style for every student; every individual has different learning preferences.
My lessons will typically last an hour, although length of lessons can be discussed and changed accordingly if necessary.
While I do not have formal tutoring experience, my strong academic background in Theoretical Physics means I have a deep understanding of both maths and physics. I have also worked in retail and hospitality settings for years, and I have honed my communication skills and ability to connect with others, making me well-suited for personalised learning support.
I am willing to tutor GCSE, A Level, or SQA National 5/Higher/Advanced higher students. I can also tutor university students of subjects such as engineering, maths, or physics.
