About Maia
I’m 21 and have worked with younger people for most of my life. I have done work experience in a nursery and grew up educating my sister, helping her grow too. Also, I have experience teaching English for a year. I am a singer and am studying Vocal Studies and Performance at a drama school in Manchester. I’d describe myself as easygoing but not too relaxed as I like to keep the respect. I believe in the idea of if you treat me with respect, I will treat you equally to myself. The students goals are in upmost importance, but I do enjoy a relaxed catch up at the beginning of each lesson, to ensure the students comfort and trust.

I like to tailor my lessons to the students’ tastes and hobbies, especially if they are younger. The lessons, however, will be dictated mostly by them as I will regularly ask what their struggles are and what needs focusing on. I go into most lessons open minded, and if I come to a lesson and a teacher has decided on a test to check a students knowledge, I will alter my lesson plan according to this, setting them up to succeed.
