About Joshua

I am a dedicated and passionate tutor with a strong background in mathematics. Currently, I am pursuing a degree in chemical engineering, which has equipped me with advanced analytical and problem-solving skills. My experience as a peer mentor for GCSE and A-Level students has honed my ability to help students excel and develop a love for learning. I am committed to creating a positive and engaging educational environment where students can thrive and achieve their academic goals.

About the lesson

My teaching methodology is centered around two core techniques: Past Papers and Active Recall. I believe that practice and active engagement are key to mastering any subject. By using past papers, students can familiarise themselves with the exam format and the types of questions they will encounter. This practice helps them to develop effective exam strategies and to identify areas where they need further improvement. Active recall, on the other hand, involves regularly testing students on the material they have learned. This method reinforces memory retention and ensures that the knowledge is firmly embedded.

A typical lesson lasts between 1 to 1.5 hours.

I have extensive experience in teaching as a peer mentor for GCSE and A-Level students. My background in tutoring is strengthened by my academic achievements and my passion for helping others succeed.

My lessons are primarily aimed at GCSE students in Years 10 and 11. I focus on building a strong foundation in mathematics to not only help them excel in their current studies but also to inspire them to pursue mathematics at A-Level.
