About Erica
Hi! I’m a dedicated middle school science teacher with over 10 years of classroom experience helping students grow in confidence and understanding. Throughout my career, I’ve worked with a wide range of learners, making science engaging, approachable, and meaningful for every student.
I have extensive experience preparing students for End-of-Grade (EOG) assessments, using proven strategies to strengthen content knowledge, improve test-taking skills, and boost performance. My goal is not just to help students pass—but to truly understand the science behind what they’re learning.
In addition to teaching, I’ve also contributed to the development of curriculum documents for my school district, giving me deep insight into standards, pacing, and what students are expected to master at each level.
Through The Curious Chemist, I bring my classroom expertise into personalized tutoring sessions that spark curiosity, build confidence, and help students succeed.

I have experience teaching a wide variety of Science standards from physical science (atoms, matter, physical properties), earth science (Earth's structure and Earth in the Universe), and life science (cells, photosynthesis, food chains, and food webs). I also am a STEM teacher at my school and I love making science come alive through labs and experiments both hands-on and virtual labs.
