About Isaiah Joshua

I Born and raised in San Diego, California, and I graduated from Carnegie Mellon School of Drama with a degree in Musical Theatre/Acting (Pittsburgh, PA).
I grew up in a household with three older sisters, and we had the blessing of having a single mother who devoted her life to the church. Everyone would call me little man and I would jump around, stomp my feet and sing with the choir. If only that little man knew the path he was carving for himself. Luckily my mother did, she gave me the greatest gift of placing me in the San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts, where I found a fiery passion for the Arts.
In 2012, my mother was called home by the lord, may she rest in power, this turn of events unveiled the harsh reality and cleared the path to untouchable resilience.
Theater has altered my state of well being, and everyday, redefines my purpose in life. Ever since this life-changing experience, I have been inspired to make a change in the world, and more specifically, to change the lives of others.

I offer private coaching to provide insight and technique to succeed at the college and professional audition process, interview preparation, and a Q & A about BFA programs.
I want to be able to create a safe virtual space to workshop, refine and dive deeper in material to further your artistry. Let's play and have fun!

About the lesson

Inviting all levels of High School and college students to attend Actor Meeting the Artist: When it comes to picking up a monologue, preparing college audition, and/or professional auditions these lesson are set up to teach you the technique to be able to tackle these situation. Every student is on a different path in life, so I gather knowledge from each student; learning who they are before I can give effective feedback and work sessions. The Acting tools that will be learned will not only do justice to the work but the work of one self.

Some of the Techniques/ Structure Includes:
1. Acting Methods: Stanislavski, Meisner, Chekhov, and Strasberg
2. Script/Analysis
3. Movement/ Viewpoints/ Laban
4. Voice for the Stage/ Linklater
5. Speech/ Accents and Dialects
6. Classical Work: Shakespeare, Greek...etc
7. Acting/Auditioning in Film
8. Musical Theater: Acting a Song, Cabaret, Audition Cut
9. HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS: College Auditioning Prep
