About Laura

I have 9 years of previous experience as a tutor, 13 years as a teacher, 22 years in education. I have an associate’s degree in physical sciences, and a Bachelor of Science degree in human development and family studies with a minor in childhood development. I have also completed 3 years towards a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, and Education. I love working with young children to inspire a love of learning! I work hard to make tutoring a positive experience! I work with the students and parents to tailor the tutoring experience to meet the needs of the students. I look forward to working with you!

About the lesson

About me

I am a very hands-on tutor! Especially with younger children, I use a lot of hands-on learning. I tailor the lessons to the student’s needs, pace of learning, and design the lessons around the goals for the student. I make learning fun, meaningful, and memorable! I strive hard to develop a love of learning, not only working on specific skills. I hope the student leaves our sessions with confidence and new skills. I have worked in education for 22 years and have experience with infants to adolescents. I previously worked with another tutoring company for 9 years. I have tutored many of my clients for at least one year! Most of my previous tutoring experience has been with Elementary, Middle School, and university students. I can guarantee that I will make learning fun and engaging, and we will work together to address your learning challenges and needs. I am a former teacher, coach, and trainer in early childhood education. My formal education is in Physical Sciences, Human Development, and Family Studies. I have formal graduate education in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, and Education. Contact me today to get started!
