About Lauren

Hi, I’m Lauren! I'm an American, TESOL-certified professional English teacher with a passion for helping students feel confident and comfortable speaking English. In addition to online lessons, I also teach at a language school in Galway.

I’ve always loved language and communication, and that’s what led me to teaching. As someone who has studied Spanish and Dutch, I understand how hard (and sometimes frustrating) learning a new language can be. That’s why I create a supportive, encouraging environment where mistakes are part of the process.

I teach students from around the world and design lessons that are practical, engaging, and tailored to each learner’s goals. Whether you want to improve your speaking skills, prepare for travel, or feel more confident in everyday conversations, I’ll help you get there step by step.

I am also pursuing a Master’s degree in Liberal Arts, which has strengthened my ability to think critically, communicate clearly, and support students in developing their own ideas in English.

My priority as a teacher is professionalism, consistency, and student success. I come to every lesson prepared, organized, and focused on helping you improve in a way that feels natural and motivating.

About the lesson

I take a communicative, student-centered approach to tutoring, where speaking and real-life language use are at the heart of every lesson. My goal is to help students build confidence while developing practical English they can actually use outside the classroom.

I structure lessons using a clear framework:

Needs analysis & goal-setting to personalize each lesson
Target language focus (meaning, form, and pronunciation)
Guided practice through structured activities
Freer speaking practice to build fluency and confidence

I incorporate role plays, conversation tasks, and functional language (e.g., ordering food, expressing opinions, workplace communication). I also provide gentle error correction and targeted pronunciation work to help students sound more natural.

Lessons are typically 25 or 50 minutes, depending on your preference and schedule. Shorter lessons are great for focused practice, while longer sessions allow for deeper discussion and skill-building.

I am a TESOL-certified English teacher and a native English speaker from the United States. I have experience teaching students from a variety of backgrounds and levels, and I specialize in creating engaging, conversation-based lessons tailored to each learner’s goals.

My lessons are suitable for:

Teenagers and adults
Levels A1–C1 (beginner to advanced)
Students who want to improve speaking, pronunciation, vocabulary, and confidence
Learners preparing for travel, work, or everyday communication
