About Amber
As you can see from my experience as a history masters graduate and things I have written on here already, I am extremely passionate about history and how important it is to teach its lessons to future generations. However, I know history isn't everyone's favorite subject, and so I aim to work with students at their level, both in terms of skill and energy. I am very patient and will do my best to make all students extremely comfortable and feel that even though we are working to achieve good results, subjects such as history, psychology or English, can still be fun and engaging.

From a young age, history is a subject that can either become beloved or almost fully dismissed. Cries of "it's boring" tend to be heard more and more as GCSE's approach, and one of my main aims is to prevent such proclamations. However, I know this won't be the case for all, and so another of my aims is to ensure that even if a student does not feel they want to pursue history in further study, that they develop skills which will ultimately help them in other areas of life and enjoy it along the way. An understanding and appreciation for history is vital, as the analytical skills derived from its practice are key to success throughout all academic and non-academic spheres. It is also a lot of fun and very interesting when it is taught right!
To achieve the highest results and satisfaction levels I have access to a range of teaching materials that I will tailor to each student based on their individual needs, whether that be at GCSE, A level or beyond. I specialize in Ancient and Medieval History, but also have a wide knowledge of Classics through to the Renaissance (17th century), as well as a Masters level understanding of Modern History through the lens of heritage.
Even though I specialize in History, I also offer tutoring in Psychology and English as I achieved A levels in both of these subjects and so can offer tutoring up to that level.
Lessons can be anywhere from an hour to two hours depending on how much, or how urgently, tutoring is needed (i.e. proximity of exams/coursework). Online tutoring is preferable, but in person is also available for those living in the Swansea/Neath/Port Talbot areas.
