About Kirsten
I have tutored students for as long as I can remember, offering private sessions as a high schooler, and then later constructing lesson plans as a T.A. and overseeing the Ithaca College Writing Center while enrolled. I spent a year teaching English abroad to kids ages 2-7. I’ve since gone on to work across genres in tv, where I ultimately became a Production & Development Executive at Nickelodeon. There I helped launch podcasts, helped develop series from pitch to final episode delivery, and organized mentorship programs. I have read hundreds if not thousands of tv pitches and scripts and have a wealth of experience in providing guidance to established writers. My professional specialty is in creative comedy writing, but I focussed my own writing degree in poetry and fiction. I have also excelled in providing more academic structural feedback and would love to help you in any realm you’re struggling in.

In my years as a writing tutor and overseeing my school’s collegiate writing center, I have helped a vast array of students and peers find success in their work. In my time working in television development, I have mentored and worked alongside hundreds of script writers, providing creative and structural direction to help them hone in on their concepts and carve out truly unique characters. Together, we’ll sift through your work step by step, digging into the more fundamental principles of craft and clarity, but also ensuring we hit on all the creative flourishes that truly lend specificity to your voice.
I am happy to work with you at any age, having conducted past lessons for kindergardeners, high schoolers, collegiate peers, and industry folks working professionally in tv.
