About Sophie
I am an English Language Teacher from Manchester, with a degree in French and Mandarin. I have taught students of varying abilities, from classes of 20+ students to one-on-one sessions over the past 3 years. I have gained practical experience by teaching in a French secondary school where some students were complete beginners and others were near native level.

My teaching method is to create an open friendly environment without fear of making mistakes. I focus on engaging subjects to make my lessons interesting and to naturally encourage the students desire to converse. As a native speaker I encourage mimicking as a way to perfect pronunciation and English intonation. I set engaging and thought provoking homework assignments to motivate students and spark a real interest in how English is used.
