About Max
I have a wide range of experience in communications starting with my background in multimedia journalism. I served for the international nonprofit organization called United Way out of college where I contributed to programs that connected corporate donors and volunteers, collaborated on press releases, and performed data analysis for the Summer Step Up program. Additionally, I supported ESL students at Salem High and Leap for Education. After working with United Way, I was the recipient of the Interexchange Christianson Fellowship, which allowed me to work with Bolivia Digna Fundación in Cochabamba, Bolivia. In my role as a writer, photographer, and videographer, I supported the communications department and raised awareness about the organization’s initiatives through its website and social media. While serving as an AmeriCorps member, I also worked as an editorial assistant for the nonprofit film company FACETS and assisted Leap for Education’s communications department in Salem, MA. My background in journalism—including roles as a reporter at Austin Talks and The Liberties—has strengthened my research, writing, and storytelling abilities, have provided with experience that am eager to pass on to you.

My lessons are suited to the student's needs. I have experience working with a range of ages and cultures. When starting out with a new student I like to take an informal approach where I get to know them and their needs. Having worked with ESL students in the US to students of all ages in Spain at various different speaking levels and will adapt lesson plans as such.
