About the lesson

I believe math isn’t a "talent" you’re born with—it’s a language you learn to speak. My goal is to move students away from memorizing formulas they don’t understand and toward a "first principles" mindset where they can derive the logic themselves.

My Methodology & Techniques
I utilize a three-step scaffolding approach to ensure every concept sticks:

The "Why" Before the "How": We start by breaking down the real-world logic or the visual representation of a problem. If you understand why a derivative exists, you won't forget the Power Rule.

Guided Mastery: We work through problems together using a digital whiteboard. I use the "I Do, We Do, You Do" method to gradually build your independence.

The "Reverse Teacher" Technique: Once we finish a topic, I’ll ask you to explain it back to me. This is the ultimate test of comprehension and identifies any lingering "fuzzy" areas.

Lesson Structure
Duration: Typically 60 minutes. This is the "sweet spot" for maintaining focus without causing cognitive fatigue.

The First 10: A quick review of the previous session or a "warm-up" problem to get the brain in gear.

The Deep Dive: 40 minutes of core instruction and active problem-solving.

The Wrap-Up: 10 minutes to summarize key takeaways and set a "challenge task" for the week.
