About Charlotte

Previously, I have given science lessons to Key Stage 2 and 3 students within both an in-school and out of school setting. These included carrying out a variety of engaging and interacting experiments to help explain basic scientific principles, with the aim to boost their interest in science and show them how it is used in everyday practice. For Key Stage 4 students, the main aim will be to identify areas in which I can help to boost their confidence and results for upcoming exams.

I also have experience running Dissection Club for the Science Department at my school. This involved teaching students from years 7-11 how to safely and correctly use the appropriate tools to dissect various specimens. My role also involved explaining the anatomy of the specimens and how they carry out their functions in the body.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured around the topics upon which you would like to improve. I teach combined and individual science (Chemistry, Biology or Physics) from Key Stage 1 up to GCSE level. I can also tutor students who would like to expand their Biology to an A-level standard.

For both online or face-face students, I will enhance your understanding of the theory via experiments, interactive learning with games and quizzes, exam-style questions and diagrams. For GCSE and A-level students, the focus will be more on ensuring you fully understand everything from the specification and preparing you for your exams. I will take you through different exam-style questions and teach you the tips and tricks for answering specific types of questions, to ensure you pick up all the extra marks. Additionally, I will teach you how to use the exam time well in order to maximise your grade.

Online teaching will be via a platform, such as Microsoft Teams, which includes tools such as the whiteboard and screen sharing settings to ensure the quality of the lesson remains at a high standard. Each lessons lasts 1 hour.
