About Lucia
I am currently pursuing a degree in neuroscience at Butler University while simultaneously earning a BFA in dance performance. I was homeschooled as a child in the Montessori method which offered me unique insights on the process of both teaching and learning at all ages, and have prior experience with tutoring through National Honors Society's tutoring program.

My typical approach to a lesson begins with discussing long and short-term goals, followed by an overview of upcoming work and due dates, specifically tests. I like to provide students with practice problems and critical thinking questions that expand their knowledge of the topic from just superficial to a deeper, more real-life oriented level. I grew up in a homeschooling household which gave me the opportunity to help teach my three younger siblings. Because of this, I have been able to see what is most effective for kids at certain ages and what ends up being most beneficial when pursuing higher education. I have had experience tutoring kids of all ages, but work best with a middle-through-high-school level, although would be willing to work with any age.
