About Christine
I was a middle school teacher for the past 7 years, teaching English Language Arts. Before becoming a full time teacher, I did tutor students from elementary school to high school. My students have consistently beat the NJ average on PARCC exams and shown clear growth in reading comprehension and clarity of writing. I'm currently in the process of going back for a Master's Degree.

My teaching method, especially when it comes to tutoring, is based on the student. The first step is determining what a student's strengths already are, then determining their areas of growth.
Students learn through practice, so a tutoring session may include a mini lesson, maybe a model, some guided practice and then some independent work with time for a debrief after. If a student is erring as they work, I'll usually stop to remediate and then have them practice perfect.
I specialize in 5th to 8th grade, but have experience with 3rd grade to seniors in high school.
