About Kristy
I’m a certified teacher with a degree in Secondary Education, majoring in English Language Arts and minoring in Social Studies. Reading and writing have always been passions of mine, and I love helping students grow their skills in both creative writing and formal/essay writing. Along with my teaching background, I also hold a Bachelor of Commerce in Management and had the chance to study abroad in Austria, which gave me valuable experience working with people from many different cultures. I’ve worked with students in person and virtually (including during COVID-19) and know how to adapt lessons to fit different learning styles. Above all, I enjoy making learning approachable, encouraging, and tailored to each student’s needs.

In my lessons, I focus on making learning feel less stressful and more doable. I take the time to get to know how you learn best, and then I adjust our sessions so they work for you—whether that means breaking down tough concepts step by step, practicing with examples, or finding fun ways to connect ideas to real life. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, because that’s how real learning happens. My goal is for you to leave each lesson not only understanding the material better, but also feeling more confident in yourself as a learner.
