About Rebecca
Hello, I am a graduate of Biomedical Science (BSC Hons) with a 2.1 and have been accepted on a PGCE QTS Teaching course for biology. As a biomedical science student I have spent hours in laboratory lessons, which has aided me in understanding practical application of what I would tutor, an example is hours of PCR testing which aids my knowledge of genetics and evolution. I have also spent time learning clinical applications of conditions which means that if a student has wishes to expand their knowledge and ask why, I can answer them. I would first enquire what the student's goals are, if this be confidence, examination technique or even teaching the subject for the first time! I would then plan a lesson which will involve the student completing activities and questions to aid their learning. Then we will develop knowledge working on key areas which have been identified. I have knowledge of AQA and Edexcel exam boards via online tutoring for two years. I have worked with practice examination questions as well as completing lessons on English Literature, Language, Biology and Chemistry. This knowledge includes an understanding of the key specification topics required to complete the course as well as understanding the mark scheme and examiners' reports to find areas in which students have previously struggled. A bit about myself, I am an avid reader and enjoy walking my dog, who is a very energetic breed.

I always listen to what you request. From exam techniques to teaching specific sections of a specification. I can fine-tune what is needed and teach accordingly. My lessons are normally 1 hour on average which include a starter (normally on previous learning as research has shown continued working memory is pivotal for examination success) then the main which is the learning goal that you request.
