About Glenda
My experience as a teacher has been exhilarating. I started off as a kindergarten teacher in a high school, simultaneously doing tuition. Later, when I moved to my farm, I taught village kids who were first time English learners. Teaching in rural areas has its merits. Not only did I teach, but had to be a counselor to each and every student. This taught me so much about upbringing in that part of the world.
Rehabilitation for the mentally challenged where I worked at was a whole new experience. As a therapist, I had to do cognitive retraining, besides being a warm counselor convincing them every 10 seconds "You can do it". Here too, I learned just how tough life can be for some mothers who have children with these challenges.
I also taught at International schools, a primary school in Porvorim and a high school located in Old Goa. My experience in these schools were just as vivid where I'm proud that four kids of Std IV for whom reading was a chore, can now fluently cover the whole lesson flawlessly.

I am sensitive towards learners and their various needs. I have developed my own strategies and techniques of classroom management, setting the context for learning to take place, using varied and appropriate tools and methods for context setting for different language levels.
My teaching strategies will help them develop receptive skills - listening and reading, and productive skills - speaking and writing. The four most important skills for learning a language.

- Plan differentiated activities
- Will cater to different needs and adapt activities to suit various
proficiency levels or needs

These methods will be used to make classes fun and interesting, keeping the students engaged at all times.
