About Mary
I have been in the field of chemistry for almost 36 years now. The first half was spent teaching college and university-level chemistry subjects and the other half conducting laboratory research. I tutored both high school and post-secondary students and they have given me good feedback on my teaching style.

I believe in hands-on approach in teaching chemistry. I make sure students understand the lessons well by giving substantial amounts of examples. For analytical and physical chemistry, problem-solving skills are honed by tackling problems in step-by-step details. For organic chemistry, concepts are explained by showing detailed bond- breaking and forming in chemical structures. Patience and passion are the keys to effective teaching in my opinion. I can teach general high school and college chemistry subjects and even post-graduate organic chemistry.
